Once upon a time, my world was blissful. I lived happily with the day to day challenges of raising a family, working full time, and keeping up with life. I trusted the government. I believed fruits and vegetables were good things. I loved Taco Bell.
As time went on, I began noticing that children were getting sicker and suffering with conditions that were virtually unheard of 30 years ago. Back in the 80s, most children were healthy. Food allergies, asthma, diabetes, ADHD, Autism, depression, anxiety, behavioral disorders, and cancer in children used to be extremely rare. It is not normal for children to have chronic health conditions.
About six years ago, my blissful world was shattered. I heard about poisons in food. I had so many perceptions about how things worked that at first I didn’t believe it. So after much prayer I began searching for answers.
I’m sharing my original perceptions on this website, then I’m exposing the realities I discovered. These shocking realities of pesticides in common children's foods are founded in truth. I have included reputable sources with verifiable information on this website. Please go directly to the articles and do your own research.
About four years ago, I took my concerns to our elected representatives in the Texas Legislature who make decisions about foods served in Texas Public Schools. I trusted that they cared about children and would embrace the idea of keeping poisons out of students’ school foods. I have been getting the run around ever since.
Then, in 2017, I hit a brick wall. Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller told me during a brief meeting that he might do something about pesticides in school foods after he saw a class action lawsuit on T.V. saying they cause cancer.
After the shock of that meeting, I realized that the wall of deception needed to come down. In April 2018, Kyna and I met with Deb Mamula, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick’s Senior Policy Advisor. Our goal was to share information with Lt. Governor Dan Patrick about chronic oral pesticide exposure in schools so he could use his influence to protect children. Ms. Mamula recommended we get a group together to influence policy in the Texas Legislature.
Thus, Organic Foods For Students was formed to bring awareness to parents, grandparents, friends, teachers, administrators, communities, and everyone else about what is happening so we can work together to change current policy. I hope and pray that you will support our efforts to serve organic foods to students in public school foods.
Let’s go back to the good 'ole days when food was food and poison wasn’t.
